HOW IS THE EYEBROW TRANSPLANT APPLIED?
There are four basic stages of an eyebrow transplant
1. Consultation and Planning
During the consultation, the specialist doctors at Promed Clinic determine the treatment area and design the eyebrow shape based on facial structure and the patient’s expectations. At this stage, a personalized plan is created to achieve the most natural and balanced result.
2. Collecting the Right Hair Follicles
Hair follicles suitable for eyebrow transplantation are carefully selected, usually without shaving, especially for patients with long hair. Since the number of grafts needed for eyebrows is relatively small, the procedure is more controlled and precise. A small hidden area at the back of the head is shaved, and the follicles are taken from this area. Only single-hair follicles are collected, as they create a more natural and aesthetic eyebrow appearance. Local anesthesia is applied to the donor area for comfort.
3. Eyebrow Transplant with the Choi Implanter
For eyebrow transplantation using the DHI method, local anesthesia is applied to the recipient area. Hair follicles are implanted one by one using the Choi implanter, with careful attention to angle and direction. In eyebrow transplants, grafts are placed at much finer angles than in scalp hair transplants, which is essential for achieving a natural look.
4. Medical Dressing After the Procedure
A medical dressing is applied the day after the procedure to help prevent complications and ensure that the transplanted follicles settle properly into the skin. The eyebrow transplant procedure usually takes about 2 to 3 hours, as only 200 to 300 grafts are typically needed.
When do eyebrow hairs grow after the transplant?
Transplanted eyebrow hairs usually begin to grow around three months after the procedure, with the final shape becoming visible after seven to eight months. As with hair transplants, the transplanted eyebrow hairs may shed about 15 days after the procedure, and this shedding can continue for up to three months. This is a normal part of the process.
Since the hair follicles are taken from the back of the head, eyebrow hairs may grow faster at first. For this reason, trimming the ends every 15 days may be necessary during the early months. After about one year, the hairs adapt to the eyebrow area, their growth rate slows down, and the need for trimming gradually decreases.
